Assignment #4 - Local Artist Spotlight

The idea behind this composition assignment is intended to represent the work a public relations professional would be assigned to complete. This is a special interest, or earned media, article for a local publication like Salt Lake City Magazine, complete with a sponsorship attribution, MAC make-up. I created this page in a classical minimalist style, matching the style found in Salt Lake City Magazine. My daughter, Missy Lynn, who is featured in this composition, is a local musician who is a regular performing artist in several downtown venues including Keys On Main and Christopher’s. She is a singer, songwriter, and pianist who has recorded in Nashville and is a member of the Salt Lake City and Nashville’s Songwriters’ Associations. The object of this article would be mutually beneficial to both the local magazine, drawing interest to the downtown area and venues, as well as bringing publicity to the artist. I used Photoshop to fine-tune the pictures and InDesign to create the magazine article and MAC advertisement.
