Picture 1: Rock Rebel by Andrew Forrest

R O C K   R E B E L

This photo is a part of a photo series entitled "Seeing Sounds." The purpose of this photo series is to depict sound with light.

The electric guitar is an energetic, aggressive instrument. I used red and green backlighting for high contrast to portray energy. The blue wings coming off the guitarist's back show movement. Finally, the guitarist's pose and facial expression exemplify the aggression of shredding some serious chords during a face-melting solo.

Rock on, peeps.

A few words from the musician:

"Unleashed inner self
An unexpected passion
Screaming energy

As a half-Japanese academic raised in a traditional LDS family, the most extreme thing I'd ever done through high school was get told off for littering by the school janitor. Then, I entered the world of metal.
It was so different from everything else I had ever done- I didn't look or act like a metalhead; but I knew I felt like one from our first show held in a freezing cold shack in the middle of nowhere.
There's just something exciting about the twitchy intensity of metal music, and few today know it was ever a part of me."
