Lincoln Selk - Assignmnet #1 - Serenity


The emotion I am trying to convey is serenity. I think there isn't a better way to display that emotion than through one of Nature's many landscapes. I chose to use this image because I love the contrast of the palm trees against the sunset and clouds. Sunsets are one way nature showcases its power and yet allows us to feel peace as each of us are a very small part of this wide world. I think sunsets can be trite at times; however the contrast here makes for something new and visually interesting.

    The colors here really capture serenity. Great job. The palm trees add depth to the photo as well.

    I really like that the palm trees are black in this photo. The contrast of the dark trees with the cotton candy-like sky is really beautiful. I also like how the bottom right corner of the photo is really bright, and then slowly fades darker as it moves up.
