Just around the riverbend
I took this photo while I was canoeing down the Wekiva Springs in Florida this past summer. I wanted to show the beauty of this simple river that lead to miles down to the clear springs. In Florida, there is so much danger while canoeing. There are poisonous snakes in the water and terrifying spiders in the trees that are above you, but the most dangerous animals, were the gators in the water. I was hoping to capture how even in possibly dangerous circumstances, there is so much serenity.
I was in the back of the canoe, so I actually had to turn all the way around to capture this picture without other people in it, so the shot isn't completely taken straight on. I used an instagram filter to make the tree colors a little more vibrant and sharpened the picture to make the water more reflective.
I commented on the pictures of Theodore King, Spencer King, Dillon Olsen, Michael Taylor and Chelsea Luke.

This is a great picture! I really like how you captured the colors. The water does look dangerous and unknown, but you can't help but love the green trees and the nature around it. I also like that you included part of your canoe. It helps the audience experience the ride down the river instead of just a river.
ReplyDeleteI like this picture... it makes me nervous though. I would be scared of dropping my phone into the river.
ReplyDeleteThis picture has great coloring and I love how green the trees are with the contrast of the river. I also love just the tip of the canoe showing. It pushes the focus onto the scene ahead and creates the story of curiosity to see what's around the bend.
ReplyDeleteBeing from Ecuador, this picture reminds me of the Amazon river! I also love the usage of lines and perspectives.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors of the trees. Often we take pictures and we lose some of the color. I like the green and how you were able to capture that.
ReplyDeleteReally cool use of the reflection. It made the photo extend in every direction
