For my final, I made my little sister a photography website. I've helped her with shoots in the past, and now that she's in college I've been encouraging her to market herself. I used Photoshop to build this home page mock up from scratch. (Second time ever trying to use Photoshop here.) After talking to her, I decided on a clean, minimalist layout for the menu to bring attention directly to the photos. The background is actually barely orange - in order to make the white in the photos more brilliant. For logo design, I researched fonts til I found one that I felt matched what she was looking for. I rendered a background texture over the ellipse, and made the letters pop with glow effect. I touched up a few of her pictures, mainly to make the colors more vibrant.
The thing I really love about this is how clean it looks. For a photography website with the kinds of photos that you have shown here, I think this is a great approach! From a usability standpoint I think it's really straightforward and really aesthetically pleasing. Nice work!
