Final project by Lorraine Bailey
For my final project, I decided to create a series of posters to promote traveling to Paris. With the title "Paris Adventure" I wanted to bring out the fun side of Paris, and with the sentence "fall in love," I wanted to invite people to both fall in love with the city and its uniqueness as well as find love in Paris: The romantic city. I used a light and soft pink to match the idea of romance. I decided to use a smaller font for "fall in love" and making it less visible so it would come as a second idea: first come explore Paris then fall in love. For the background I used pictures I took while I was in Paris last summer. I chose places that are famous and easily recognizable. I wanted to keep the overall design simple because there was already a lot going on in the picture itself with the architecture of the buildings and different colors, angles, and elements. In the composition, I played with balance, rule of third and angles. For the colors, I decided to use soft faded colors to convey a feeling of a "soft romantic dream ". I applied a filter called "cinemascope" which gives that unreal, pale color. I then added the silhouette in Photoshop. I reshaped them and made them more contrasted. I wanted the silhouette to stay as simple as possible so they could be seen as anonymous couples and give the viewer the opportunity to picture themselves as one of the silhouettes.

This is a very cute idea! Love the silhouettes. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThe photography is great and well editted. I really like the silhouettes you put in there. They give the photos a kind of dream like feel to them and helps me to picture myself as the faceless people in the photos. I agree that it's a "soft romantic dream" feeling.

ReplyDeleteThe silhouettes look awesome in each picture! I also really like the typography you chose! Great job!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute and well done! One thing I noticed: in the first picture, and especially the second picture, the silhouettes don't look black, but almost a very dark brown. But that just could be because of the colors they are set against or something. Great design!
