This is a photo of a friend who was going through a difficult time. I wanted to bring out that emotion that we feel when we are alone or feel like things around us are falling down. I used the rule of thirds to balance the lights and darks in the photo, and made the photo black and white to bring out emotion and make the photo stronger. I feel that the area around him helps to convey the loneliness that we feel in those situations in our lives.

This it really powerful. I think the black and white is working really well for you here, because it goes along with the dark emotion. The background also has this very gritty look to it, which I think further enhances the mood.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! I think you did just the right amount of contrast. I also love the focus on your friend and the little bit of blur in other parts of the photo. My favorite thing is the symbolism with the stairs and what you said about things around us falling down. Amazing job!!
ReplyDeleteWow - this image is stunning. Great choice putting it in black and white - it makes it. He's in the rule of thirds and he stands out against the wall. Having the wall on the left hand side helps the eye be directed to the area of focus too.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I am really feeling the emotion here
ReplyDeletePowerful photo, I can feel the emotion from the picture.
ReplyDeleteI love that you made this picture black and white- I think it coveys a lot of emotion. I also like how you used the rule of thirds!
ReplyDeleteI love how the person almost fades into the background of the picture which connects to the emotion you were describing.
ReplyDeleteWow, stunning picture. I feel like you captured the emotion perfectly. It doesn't look cheesy or forced. The black and white was a good choice because of the way the light is balanced.
