This is a picture I took while in Hawaii in December. For me, this picture sums up the relaxing and peaceful emotions that I felt there. Some image principles involved are continuation, starting with the trees, and the view going from the left to the right. Figure ground also comes into play with the black silhouettes. I really like the color contrast from the sky to the water to the dark people and the trees. I edited the colors slightly, making the darker parts of the picture just a little more black. I also cropped the bottom and top of the picture to direct the focus more on the focal point. The sun is also follows the rule of thirds. This picture will always remind me of the calm, breezy sunsets in Oahu Hawaii.

ReplyDeleteThis is a great picture! I love the movement the image creates, my eye starts at the brighter sun and moves across the ocean. I also love the contrast that is depicted here! Great job!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had your editing abilities. The contrast is lovely!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo, I feel relaxed just looking looking at it. You did a nice job of capturing all the different colors.
ReplyDeleteThe color changes in the picture is awesome, I love the reflection of the orange in the sky on the water.
