There is a subtle message with the picture and the way it is
laid out and set up. Based on the color and singularity of the leaf the mind
comes to an automatic realization that this is being taken right in between
fall and winter. This automatically brings up thoughts of change and
transformation. There is only one leaf left, holding on to an old way that can
no longer be. It doesn’t realize that change is important for progress, and that
winter only serves as a doorway into spring.
Humans also have this tendency, failing to see change for
the progress that it is, holding back when they need to press forward.
I just took the picture, so the leaf is actually very dull and dead looking in real life. I increased saturation and messed with the colors to get the brighter "fall look".

This is a really cool picture! I think that incorporating the rule of thirds could have made this picture stronger though.

ReplyDeleteI agree about the rule of thirds, but you did a great job with the colors!
ReplyDeleteI like that you have the leaf as the focal point. The color helps it to really pop and make it stand out from the rest of the photo.
ReplyDeleteAwesome pic. Branch and trees are highlighted by the focus and contrast well against the background.
