Assignment #1- Mary Kate Davidson
Over the summer I went to Ireland and one if my favorite things what we did was walk along a river looking at the scenery and the cool architecture in the cottages by the river. It was also really awesome that day because it wasn't raining; which is usually is. Everything in Ireland is really green, but when I took the picture the color didn't show up very well. So I edited the green to be more vibrant so it was closer to how I remembered it. I also sharpened the boat house so you could see the individual bricks more clearly. The emotion I was trying to display is serenity and nostalgia.
I commented on:
(1) Justin Alworth
(2) Spencer Mecham
(3) Natalie Daelemans
(4) Lincoln Selk
(5) Jessilyn Gale
Great use of focus range to frame the house in the background!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of this picture. More of a composition suggestion than an editing one, I would maybe have tried to move the branches a little more so the boat house was a little more visible, but I think sharpening the building was a great way to make it stand out!
ReplyDeleteLove that you use the trees as a frame for the subject of your pic!
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning Mary, it portrays the true brightness of the Irish greenery. It appears to bring out the emotion of inquisitiveness. I imagine a little leprechaun curiously looking through the trees to the cottage.
ReplyDeleteThis picture stood out to me because it made me think about all the little things that we miss each day. There is a beautiful scene just through the trees that can easily be missed by all the distraction around, but if you look close enough, you can see what more there is to your surrounding. Great job!
