I unknowingly used the rule of thirds as the mother and daughter are in the center third of the picture. However, my favorite part of the picture is the three smiling faces behind them. I think they really convey the happiness of that moment.
After taking this picture I adjusted the contrast and brightness in addition to making it black and white, which helps mask how awful airport lighting really is. Additionally, I think the simple color scheme allows the feelings of the moment to be portrayed better. While in my group we discussed editing out some of the overhead lights to let the subject stand out more, however ultimately it looked better with the overhead lights drawing the viewers eye into the center of the picture.

I enjoyed seeing the emotion that you captured with this photo. The black and white serves to keep me from getting distracted so that I can simply focus on the focus point of the two people embracing.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Charlotte, having it black and white makes it! The emotion spills out of the picture. Awesome angle as well!
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot of emotion in this image. I really like that the only people in focus are the two hugging in the front and center of the picture. Great job!

ReplyDeletePicture definitely captures the emotion of reuniting. The black and white ads a sense of timelessness. Awesome
