Lindsay Combs - Assignment 1 - "The Age of Innocence"

The emotions I wanted to convey are innocence and love.

Just before this, she had been crying until someone handed her a stuffed animal. I got this picture right when her tears turned into a smile. I love the wonder and love in her eyes and the beginning of the smile on her face.

It follows the rule of thirds up to her expression. I also brightened the photo which washed out the color a bit in order to emphasize the feeling of innocence and purity. But I also kept the warmth in the photo with the colors I did enhance.

I commented on the following projects: Alex Trump, J. Felix Lara, Abby Hobbs, Nathan Innis, and Rhees Jackson.

  2. What I love about your picture is your use of the rule of thirds, because it makes the picture feel real. I love that we can see a little bit of the person holding her while still seeing the innocence in her eyes.

  3. I like that the girl isn't centered. You do a great job using the rule of thirds to enhance this image's eye-catching interest.
