Lauren Buchanan Assignment #1 "Portobello Rd."

I traveled to London last summer.  One of my all-time favorite places I visited was Portobello Road.  Luckily it was a short walk from the BYU London Center, so I was able to go more than once.  It was a crowded place, stuffed with tourists, vendors, and regular Londoners there to shop through the many outdoor and indoor stores and booths.

It was authentic--not a cheap, ritzy sort of market.  People were selling all sorts of things--from tea kettles and Polaroids to crepes and fresh produce. For me, this image captures the essence of the market place--all its hustle, bustle, and productivity, as well as the lifestyle and culture of the people of London.  Every time I see it, it reminds me of that day spent making new friends and experiencing the sights and sounds of London.

I edited the exposure on this picture.  The original was a little dark, so I lightened it up so that the texture of the bread was a little clearer.

  2. VERY COOL. I love bread so I feel the emotion here. Though I think cutting out the man behind would be better. I don't know
