Final Project: Jordan Miki Wheeler

So I wanted to create something that was pretty descriptive of myself so I designed this in Illustrator and Photoshop. I chose the color scheme and layout to be based after a 90s look. These were my inspiration pieces:

And I ended up making this color scheme in Adobe Color CC:

Being born and raised in the 90s, it seemed appropriate. My mother was born and raised in Japan, so I wanted to include some of my heritage in the work as well. I took time in decided what font I wanted for the English and Japanese writing and attempted to use triangulation in the typography of the serif font to lead the eye from the Japanese text to the name in English below without making the English name the focus of the piece. I wanted it to be pretty clean, but a retro composition.

  1. I love your color scheme. At least that is the thing that I enjoy the most. The japanese flag (at least the original flag) looks really awesome with the colors. I enjoy that you are thinking about the 90's because that is basically when all of us grew up and the colors really do reflect that. What are you planning on using this for afterward? Was it just for fun? Or like this is your own logo sort of thing?

  2. You never cease to amaze me! Charles Barkley is also my inspiration. The way it shoots out at you is pretty great!
