For my final project, I wanted to do something a little more fun and abstract. I wanted to take the idea that two familiar things can create something new. I know that people have grown accustomed to Starry Night and also to Hogwarts, but a fresh idea can take place when you combine the two together. I used blue and yellow because the are contrasting colors and I tried to use rules of composition as well to draw the eye to the castle. Enjoy!
I commented on Doug Heath, Hailey Stevens, Samantha Williams, Rebecca Harpster, Jenna Randle
Did you draw this yourself? Based on the little ST in the bottom right corner I am assuming this is hand drawn which is realyl awesome. You did a wonderful job imitating Van Gogh's original the colors seem to match up pretty well. You really know your audience because Harry Potter is like OUR generation's thing, which I love (not harry potter but that you know that audience). Well done.
ReplyDeleteThis is phenomenal. What a captivating idea to take two such great images of our world and mesh them into one masterpiece. I am a fan of both Van Gogh as well as Harry Potter- so this was really neat to see!
ReplyDeleteThis looks amazing!! I love the idea of combining two different things into one. It really adds to the image and makes it unique. I love the colors that were picked to help keep the feel of Starry Night.
ReplyDeleteVery creative! Van Gogh's "Starry Night" is one of the most recognizable paintings ever, and seeing that same art style but on a different image is really cool. Great job mixing some classic art with modern culture.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun idea! I like how you stayed true to the visual while adding your own personal touch. I just want to keep looking at it and learn more about it!
ReplyDeleteSo cool! Such a great idea and a fun project. The colors and design is great and it was cool to see the idea come to life and be so easily recognized. Nice!
ReplyDeletethis is super cool to do. Being able to combine 2 different ideas that we know into something unique and cool.
ReplyDeleteNo way! You're a boss. Great use of colour and I think it's very creative how you brought a newer icon to an older artistic piece. I really enjoyed viewing this. Thank you for being awesome.
ReplyDeleteVery unique! I like the combination of using something so old and epic and making it new and relevant. Awesome.
