Throughout the semester, I have mostly focused on aspects of life. I decided to end with life, and I hoped to include a lot of what I learned this semester. I did, indeed, include much of what I learned, but I also wanted to bring together those thoughts that everyone learned.
I took all 252 images that everyone created throughout the semester to form a mosaic collage. Starting with dirt, my seedling grows into a beautiful flower, something I think we all aspire to do, metaphorically of course. I love it because it embraces what the class was about--learning and growth. It is really cool to see all of our projects together as one to form a unique image for each to interpret as their own.
I mosaic-ed the pictures on Photoshop and then overlaid the created pattern to form the collage. I originally desaturated the image, but did not feel as though you could see it for its worth. I also liked the color it added to the dirt, making it look more intricate and detailed. I then used a Quicksand font to apply a clear and simple message to the images. I took it to a gif generator in order to keep it on a constant stream.
Very interesting. I like the texture that all the images make. Good work!
ReplyDeleteSo I really like this idea. I like how you took all the images and were able to combine them into a theme for the class. I wasn't able to tell that there was dirt on the first screen until I read your description. The seedling was also slightly ambiguous until I read the comments to confirm what I thought it was. I do really like the text, from the font, to color, to size. It might have been interesting to see the pictures in the mosaic arranged, but overall, this was a very creative idea.
