Collin Gingrich- Final Project
This was a picture that was taken of me in Peru over the summer. I wanted to take it and give it a really different feel by using principles that we have covered in class. I used a deconstructionist layout. I left color in the face to draw the viewer's eyes there. I also used the directionality of the newspaper to direct the eye of the viewer. I think that the changes that I made to the image made it a lot darker and kind of depressing, but I think it is also a very thought provoking image because of its ambiguity.
I commented on Dave Rowe, Heidi Ertel, Tanner Wadsworth, Blakely Gull, and Courtney Johansson.

This is definitely thought provoking like you mentioned! I think it is so interesting how it is blurred in some areas.
ReplyDeleteI agree that it's very ambiguous, but it makes me wonder what point it is you're trying to make. Maybe if the newspaper clippings had words that could be made out easier to convey a message. The blurring of the image starting from your hand is good!
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, this picture totally reminds me of my father, is that totally weird? Yes. It is (I think it's just because of the cap and the newspapers). But it's a cool picture. I really like the watercolor effect you used. I think it would be super cool if it was actually a collage of the water colored picture on top of real newspapers. I think this is great; sorry for this insane and rambly comment.
