Color Project #3: Todd Bean- Go Go PR

Instead of the traditional vibrant colors that are tied to Power Rangers, I decided to see if I could alter the Power Rangers to a more modern, muted, jewel shade color palette that is more interesting to look at. I found this exact picture that matched my original analogous color scheme, so I decided it must have been fate. Despite the purple and pink not exactly matching (pretend like it does), this is the exact color scheme I came to love. While the vibrant colors that the original Power Rangers were conceived from are great, they may be taxing on the eye to look and stare at, and this scheme is a more relaxed, contemporary blend of color and personality. These specific colors could be classified as shades of the original red, blue, green, yellow, and pink renditions since they have more black, and possibly grey (in that case a tone) color to them. The off-white background really goes well and compliments the muted shades.

  5. This is an example of how our culture is creative today, taking old concepts and ideas and slightly altering them to make it new. I grew up loving Power Rangers and I agree, this color scheme gives a more fresh, lively look compared to the original. One problem: no black ranger? C'mon man, that's my favorite one! haha

  7. I grew up watching the Power Rangers and really like this new color scheme for them. The more muted colors flow together nicely and are definitely easier on the eye than the original vibrant colors

  8. Mission accomplished--the content plays off people's nostalgia but everything about the design (flat texture, muted colors) fits with trends right now. Plus, you know, it's Power Rangers, so it's automatically a winner.
