Assignment #4 Blakely Gull
I decided to create a poster for this assignment. I wanted to keep it simple and really focus on the photo. I shoot this picture back at the beginning of my brother's season. This is actually him running in the flag before kickoff. I cropped off the bottom because I wanted it to be more of a banner than a full-length poster. I wanted to use a bold type and wanted Alta Football to stand out the most so I put those in white. Then the less important type I offset in gray. I lined up Alta with Crosby's face for emphasis.

This is way cool! I love how the flagholder leads the entire picture. Actually really funny too- I kinda know your brother (he was my roommates little sister's date to the most recent dance haha)
ReplyDeleteThis is great, very well balanced. I like how you put the type in two different fonts. Very clever. Only suggestion would be to make the spacing between Alta Football a little smaller. Otherwise this is great!
ReplyDeleteGo Hawks! I really like this. The team colors and the picture in general promote power and movement. This could be really busy but choosing the white and the plain font keeps it digestable. Good job.
ReplyDeleteI like how simple this is. Choosing a sans serif font was completely the correct choice. It's a great picture as well.
ReplyDeleteI think this is designed very well. I like how you cropped the photo so it fit more like a banner. The color and sans serif font were perfect, and arranged in such a way that the flag's edge fit the arrangement of the type. I would suggest tightening up the space between Alta and Football, but other than that, great job at the layout and colors.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture. There is a story and a lot of emotion involved. My only suggestion would be testing out the headline in the top right corner. I think it would be less busy and pop a little bit more. Just an idea. Good work.
ReplyDeleteHawks fly together!!
