Assignment #3 - James Birdsall - Burning Memories
In this image I used harmonious hexadecimal colors (nice ring to it!) to emphasize the fire that is consuming the memory box. The predominately orange photo pulls in two directions: it is destructive and yet hopeful. Orange inspires us to look forward to the future and hope for better things. So although the subject is sad, it also has a sense of confidence. I used various shades of orange because I wanted this picture dark to keep with the mood of the theme.
I commented on Lindsey Peterson, Lexi Erickson, Colton Fullmer, Brandon Henson, Hannah Childs

Awesome mix. I love the color scheme. It really feels fierceness rather than sadness which I like. It's a new take on forgetting memories. Really awesome!
ReplyDeleteThe harmonious hexadecimal colors really created this picture. The colors help make the fire stand out and also make the word memories stand out. I really like how the important elements stand out in the picture.
ReplyDeleteI like the choice of shades of orange and how easy it is to find them in the picture. It's a strong image and fun to see because of the fire.
ReplyDeleteI know that fire naturally has these kinds of hues to it, but I really love how you were able to capture that moment so well in a photograph and touch it up a little. The warm colors definitely create the perfect mood.
ReplyDeleteGreat color choices! I can almost feel the heat coming off this image. Pro!
ReplyDeleteI like how the brightness of the colors transitions from light to darkness down the picture, another symbolism for what you said about hope and sadness. Also, blurring out the fire to have the typography of memories stand out was a good idea too. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome how you were able to find a photo to match tis color scheme it's spot on!
ReplyDeleteThis image is striking with the dominant warm colors. I love how the colors are so autumn-y and should remind us of Thanksgiving, but are actually used to burn those memories. Very unexpected--great job!
ReplyDeleteI love how the colors in this picture really draw you in. I first noticed the flames and then my attention turned to the writing on the box.
ReplyDeleteThis is some hot stuff. It evokes a lot of different emotions: it can be sad about lost memories, or relieving as you destroy bad memories.
