Assignment #3-Lindsey Peterson-Boston Red Sox
I took the original photo (the bottom one) a few years ago on a trip to Boston. This is at Fenway Park where the Red Sox play. The lone red seat among all the green seats marks where Ted Williams hit the longest home run ever at Fenway. I edited the picture (the top one) on Lightroom to make the colors more vibrant and to cutout the red in the bottom corner so the only focus would be on the red seat. I also cropped it so the red seat was on one of the intersections in the 'rule of thirds'. The colors Red/Green are complementary colors which makes the red seat stand out even more among the green seats.
I commented on: Aaron Adams, Hannah Childs, Doug Heath, Hayley Herrara, Colton Fullmer.

Great shot! It goes to show how far a little color work can go. The top one is so much more vibrant and the colors pop. It's really well executed.
ReplyDeleteI love the pop of color idea. Also, the colors are complimentary which also adds to the effect. Awesome job!
ReplyDeleteThe color modifications really worked well. They made the greens and red stand out a lot more. The cropping helped to zero in on the red chair.
ReplyDeleteSo subtle and so cool! I loved the contrast!
ReplyDeleteThis is a super cool picture. The composition and diagonal lines are aesthetically pleasing and I love the single red chair.
ReplyDeleteI love this! I love baseball, and I love Fenway! I love the symmetry of the chairs and how the red one stands out. Obviously. Great picture!!
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome to be able to see red and green together and not think of Christmas. I think you did a really good job at portraying this image and making sure that the seat popped and draws your eye there. And just a suggestion, but I think the picture would have more context if you hadn't cropped it down a little, but it's still a great work of art!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't turn down commenting on a Fenway picture! Serving my mission in Boston and being a Red Sox fan makes Fenway one of my favorite stadiums! You showed great editing skills with making the colors more vibrant and putting the red chair as the focus. The crop was a good idea too to eliminate the shadows.
ReplyDeleteThis is nicely done. I like how you cut the red out of the corner to make the seat the only part that was red. Also, the colors are super vibrant from your editing, which makes the photo more compelling. I do think you could have left more of the depth of the picture, to tie it a little more context, like Heidi said. But I think it's a rely cool picture!! Good work!
