Assignment 2: Brooke Adams--Turn It Up

A photo can’t accurately convey the experience of a Foxy Shazam concert. I actually came to this show for the opening band, but soon understood why Foxy secured the headlining spot. Their nonstop energy is infectious and the entire band epitomizes the concept of “you do you and own it.” The soft focus and bright lights suggest movement and fluidity, but can’t really show the randomness of each person’s dancing and power-stancing.

I used the typography to enhance the Foxy atmosphere. “LOUD? TURN IT UP” fits because I loved the first band I came to see, but Foxy came on stage and went insane. Because of the way the band performs, everyone in the crowd does absolutely whatever they feel like and no one cares. You-do-you is basically a rule at this show, so I used Futura Condensed ExtraBold type, which creates the “Just Do It” vibe of a command that makes you want to get up and move. I used yellow because it’s attention-grabbing and fits the show’s color scheme, then I increased the point-size and the brightness of the type for the text on the bottom so it would support the feel of the words.

  2. Well, that font definitely says Loud! I think you did a great job at tying all these things together and letting the type really play into the image
