THE VIBRANCE OF IMAGINATION

I chose to throw a color splash on this photo to demonstrate how powerful creativity is, and how the imagination of a small child can bring color and joy to a completely gray world. 

These children came to visit the Comic Con headquarters, also called the War Room. Not always a calm or pleasant place. They walked in, wearing these homemade costumes that they had worked on for 3 months. The moment the kids entered, their joy at being swept up in the fantasy world they had created infected us all. They were so completely wrapped in their imagination and it lit up the room.  

I loved them standing together holding hands, as if defying the adult necessity to conform to reality. That innocence and freedom of imagination is so fleeting and precious, I was delighted to have captured the joy they spread.
