Children at Heart - Assignment #1 Robbie Dorius

Who remembers being a kid and wanting to grow up so badly? Now we all say that we wish we could go back to the simplistic days of our childhood. This is a picture of my nephew and his adorable friend, Penny. I remember taking this picture because how grown up the two looked while they were exchanging silly stories. It seems more like they are discussing the philosophies of life in a pleasant exchange. Penny is dressed in her pajamas while holding her mom's car keys in her hand, creating a great juxtaposition. It reminds us all that adulthood is an inevitable responsibility that we all must answer to. The lighting from the setting sun creates a natural filter, giving the picture an almost retro feel.

  2. This is precious and I agree with M White. It completely shows the innocence of childhood. I also like how you didn't use any filters or editing because the picture has a simple but beautiful quality about it already.

  3. I really love this picture! It captures the ability children have to feel carefree; which is also echoed in the retro sun shining through and the adorable haircut of the little girl. But at the same time, the children are depicted in a parking lot and the little girl's keys remind us of our obligations to reality.

  5. This is a great photo. The lighting makes the scene seem innocent and joyful and catching the kids talking mid-conversation tells a story about a friendship between them and makes the audience want to know more about their lives.
