Nature Kid

I took this picture because I thought it was beautiful. My brother is happy. He is content with life. Happy to be outside.  I took this picture this way so it would incorporate the rule of thirds. I wanted him to be the emphasis- especially his smiling face. I thought this would make a great children's magazine and since he is enjoying nature, I incorporated the outdoors that as well. My color scheme is listed above, but it is very neutral, cool and content. When I see this picture, it relaxes me and I wanted that to come across with my color choices as well. Looking at other magazine covers, I have noticed that titles are always big and think. There are also usually very appealing sayings on the sides to get people to open the magazines. I put the text on the left side to balance out the picture, with all of the emphasis of him on the right side.

I commented on:
Giulianna Collato
Sam Thorup
Courtney Johansson
Benton Challis
Madison Houghton

  3. Okay this is just adorable. The asymmetry of putting the text on one side is balanced with the cute little boy on the right. The photo really captures the essence of the magazine too, or at least what I perceive to be the essence :)

  4. This is my favorite image! That kid's face is so inviting I don't know who wouldn't want to stop and the read the magazine. The overall layout with the headline works great in terms of hierarchy. The color scheme also certainly gives off that nature vibe. Overall great job!
