This design is a book cover for NaNoWriMo. I chose the purples because that color is plot important for the book I'm writing, and I chose the font because it looks archaic and i'm writing a book set back in medieval times.
there's not much else to say, I did this in photoshop, using a base photo as a template for the image. I like how the image maintains contrast while still holding a warm, soothing feeling without becoming too busy.

I think you had a good use of the purple hues in this photo. I don't know if you were going for a little more loud but it definitely makes it feel a little louder and kind of draws me in because it makes me want to figure out what's going on in the pic. Good job, though :)
ReplyDeleteShadow looks good. I like what you did with it.
ReplyDeleteThis image looks simple but at the same time intricate. I really like the simplicity of the colors, and the design is mesmerizing. Great choice of colors.
ReplyDeleteThe color scheme really pops out at you. Reminds me a bit of Aladdin with the both the colors and font similar to that found in the movie. I really like the mirroring effect with the light and dark purple shadowing the jagged triangles.
ReplyDeleteI like that you used a triadic tone but also added the fourth color with the shade of the main purple. My only suggestion would be to maybe try your name in a different font than the title, but I like these colors you chose.
ReplyDeleteI know you used colors at equal distances in the color wheel, but for me the green is a little bit weird in there. I still think you did a good job at putting it where you put it, but it might have been interesting to try a different shade or tint of green. I liked the picture a lot because it's well balanced and purple is a great color.
