Courtney Johansson - Assignment #4

I made a custom card to give to a significant other (the picture could be switched out to anything the purchaser desired). The yellow and blue in the letters really pull out the colors in the blue and yellow sweater, and the teal goes well with the greens in the leaves. I set the text underneath the photo so the eye is first drawn to the picture and to the text second. The fonts are fun, but not overpowering. The template is perfect for an anniversary, birthday, or just because. The background color is subtle and not overpowering and the text is balanced well with the photo to make the photo the main focal point. The photo captures the happiness and euphoria of falling in love and the words fit perfectly with the mood and tone of the picture. For this assignment, we needed to compose a piece of work that captured the elements of balance, color, and typography that we have learned about in class, and I believe that my card pieces all three elements together in an aesthetically pleasing way.

I commented on: Sydney Walton, Hailey Stevens, McCall Mishler, Skyler Street, Heidi Ertel.

  2. Good Job! I like the complementary colors. Also the text isn't overpowering and still allows the picture to be the main focus.
