It Only Takes One- Typography, Assignment #2, Nathan Scovill

From a lifetime of scouting and having walked through more than one forest that had been burned in a wildfire, this is a message that actually appeals to me.

Creating the text involved multiple layers, manipulation of those layers, and manual addition of certain details such as the ashes, and cleaning up unusually rough or discolored edges and roughening edges that were too smooth.

The addition of the smokey the bear in the corner was somewhat last minute, though I like the appearance of him with the match laying on top. I think it's pretty nice.

I wish I had more time to work on it, but I'm going out of town tomorrow and won't be back for a week, so this is what I'm able to upload. Thanks for looking!

  1. I liked how you gave the type texture. It really adds to the feel of the overall image.

  2. I like this because when I was 12 I lit a whole field on fire on accident. This hits home and the font just makes me feel guilty.
