All of need to escape every once in awhile. Our daily routines can cause stress make us forget the beauty of life. I took this picture during the summer at a lake in the mountains of Idaho. It was so peaceful and I thought this lone sail boat illustrated that peace and the need that we all have to escape.
I tried to keep the font simple and neat to not distract from the calmness and solitude I am trying to portray. I also kept the color very neutral and similar to the natural colors for that same reason. I wanted the font to simply add to the image, rather than have the image add to the font.
I like this a lot, the simplicity of the font combined with the visual focus of the picture make it look like an add. And for some reason I want to go to Sweden now.
ReplyDeleteI like that the boat, and even the word, aren't really the center of the attention. You realize that the feeling you felt when you saw the photo is actually described by the word before you actually see it.

ReplyDeleteEscape (period). Sweet message, sometimes i feel like the less words used the more impactful the message (Callahan Oct. 13th). (got make sure i cite my sources). the imaged is layered in thirds and the call to action is so simple that it forces you to make a choice to escape or stay shackled. love it.
ReplyDeleteLooks like an advertisement in an LL Bean catalog...or for Idaho. Either way, it's really well done. The copy says all that needs to be said.
ReplyDeleteI love the simplicity. One word and the picture that says a thousand. I like the different layers in the image. But perhaps the thing I love the most is how bright and colorful the sail is; it really makes it stand out.
