Assignment #2 - Courtney Johansson - Get Lost
I took this picture on a drive through the canyon when a storm was coming in. The storm looked really cool, but the picture didn't exactly capture it, so I edited it pretty heavily to darken the clouds and added texture to increase the feeling of adventure and to make the picture more appealing. I think that we spend too much time focusing on where we are going instead of enjoying the journey and focusing on how we get there. The cursive font is called Honey Script Light and I can't remember what the other font is called, but it is sans serif and the letters are very thing. I think the fonts I used help to portray simplicity and remind us to put down the map, explore, and enjoy the journey. The fonts I used are both simple and go well with the background. I subdued the colors of the font so that the words are softer and look more appealing.
I commented on Alex Skinner, Collin Gingrich, Eric Slaugh, Madison Houghton, and Clarissa Oliphant.

I love the contrast of text, and the thin style of both fonts keep everything united and in theme with the photo!
ReplyDeleteThe flourish on the word "wonderfully" really has a great impact. It changes the entire tone of the message and the picture. I also like how the road is open. There aren't any cars or obstacles in front of your view, but the road winds around the bend so you don't quite know what's coming.
ReplyDeleteI really like the font you used for wonderfully! I think the picture and color and front all go together AMAZINGLY. Perfect
ReplyDeleteI love the edit of this picture. It's also just a cool picture in general with the ominous sky and vibrant mountains. Perfect font to go with the edit.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed viewing your photograph. It almost has a 50's road trip feel to it. I also like the high contrast between the road, sky and mountains. Excellent job!
ReplyDeleteSick! haha. this looks professional and i think that is kind of what we are going for. first off the image by itself is beautiful. you utilized the perfect space for type. and the caption fits the scene perfectly. i would criticize this if i could... but i cant.
ReplyDeleteMan oh man, I DIG this picture. The contrasting fonts make me want to read the quote over and over, and the familiar scenery of the canyon makes me never want to be in the city ever again. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThe type matches well with the filter and overall the visual has a cohesive vibe--I like it!
