On Saturday morning during the rain storm, my roommate and her sister, Madi, got back from a run and were stretching in the apartment. For whatever reason, we all thought that doing yoga in the rain would be a great idea, so I grabbed my phone (hence the not super great quality) and we ran outside. I had them go to the road to do a vinyasa because I liked the way that you could make the road look like it went on forever.
I like this shot because on a metaphorical level, the rain (and black and white coloring) makes it look ominous, but she's content with it.
On a non-metaphorical level, Madi is the coolest and it was just fun to photograph someone who was willing to do yoga in the middle of the road during a storm. It's a fun memory that turned into a cool photo.
I like the position of the girl because it aligns right with the telephone poles. It draws the eye to focus more not he girl and the picture looks balanced.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of "tree pose in the rain". Our bodies are not typically considered part of nature (as in the dirt and plants we normally see), but in reality, they are a huge part of nature (think pollution, construction, etc). This picture could be a statement about how we, as humans, affect the earth...or maybe I'm reading into this too deeply.. :) Great picture either way!
