Assignment #1 - Steven Dawson - Find Your Smile
I saw this smily face on BYU campus last autumn. I was having a bummer day and this served as a great pick-me-up. The words I added are super-imposed and half-hidden. They don't hide any part of the image, but hide inside the image, just as the smily face was hiding underneath the leaves before someone pushed them back. It attempts to inspire optimism and provoke thought. The goal is to get the viewer so focused on what the words say and mean, that they forget they were looking at a smily face until they've read the message.

First of all whoever created this... wonderful. Second the most interesting part to me is that you almost hide the words in the picture. Find Your Smile hidden the autumn leaves is almost impossible to find, but at the same time you know exactly where to look. Very well done.
ReplyDeleteThis picture is just stunning! I love the hidden words :)
