Oreo Billboard Series

These are a series of billboards I created for Oreo's. The image I used was of me holding a just-opened box of white fudge covered Oreo's. I chose to take the image from the perspective of one looking at a box before they begin eating Oreo's. Let's face it, no one ever really eat just one Oreo, although many might have t he intention of only eating one or just a few. Essentially Oreo just needs to convince you to have one and the rest is history. That is the feeling I wanted to invoke with these ads, a feeling of desire followed by partial denial and partial acceptance. I also added the tagline Oreo is famous for, "How do you Oreo?" to let people know that it is up to them to eat as many as they want how ever they want.
As far as composition goes I used tracking to separate words evenly and grids to align words and visuals. For typography I tried to math the type used for "white fudge"on the box as close as I could. I wanted to make it both uniform and simple. I used the same type, but in different sizes. I also chose backgrounds that contrasted well with the image I chose. I added the red Nabisco logo tot he middle image because it went well with the color scheme of the entire image. The bottom and top image were left a little sharper because of where they were placed. I added a little noise to the middle image to match its surroundings a little better. For the top two images the angel of the billboard guides the eye through the image, while the bottom image is almost centered. I used the  old lady to bring the attention to the right and then lead the viewer through the image string from the left and finishing on the right.there is a good balance with the image between the lady and the bus tire. The building in the center image also serves as an arrow to guide the eye upward.
to finish yo i also used the iconic Oreo cookie design instead of the traditional logo. I thought people would recognize the brand and the cookie at the same time, which would be an extra plug in for eating regular Oreo's if they are not craving the white fudge Oreo's.
