Robbie Dorius, Assignment #3 - Idaho

I'm an Idaho native, and just like Texans have pride for their state, I have pride for mine as well. Idaho is very simplistic and that's what I like most about it. I wanted to capture a design that resembled the simplicity of Idaho, so I chose a very simple color pallet. I wanted "HOME" to really stand out and show the emotion that I have for my state, so I chose red to resemble the color of blood. The state itself is white because I feel like it expresses how pure and simple the people are who live in Idaho. I enhanced the coloring on the wood to make it seem a little more rustic and to help the white on the state really pop out.

I commented on:

-Bryan McDonald
-Lincoln Selk
-Chloe Johnson
-Gabe McFadden
-Abby Hobbs

  1. I love the color scheme and the simplicity of the photo. I also like how you made the texture of Idaho the sam as the wood.

  2. Woohoo Idaho! I'm a native as well, and I think your choice of color scheme really sends the message you were going for. I'm noticing some shadow on the right side of the image, which I really like, but that makes the left side a bit flat for me....so maybe generate some shadows on the left so it's even? But it's lovely either way.

  5. The red and the brown compliment each other and make each other pop! I love the way you used a simple graphic too!

  8. The wood is a great background and provides a good foundational tone for the theme of the picture.

  9. You're a visual genius.
Good color choice, they really stand out, and make the red pop out in the picture.

  10. I really like this idea. It could work with many states but particularly well with this state because it has a flat bottom. I would just give the word "home a little breathing room
