Hannah Maines - Color Assignment

For this assignment, I started with a picture my husband took in San Francisco last November. The picture was taken in the daytime (around 5 PM) right before the sun was about to start setting. I wanted to make the image look like it was taken at night, so on Photoshop I darkened the image. I then put the original daytime photo behind and above the darkened image and made it transparent. I intensified the rust colors from the sun and added type. I wanted the daytime image to fade into the nighttime image. I used shades of black with a grayish blue and reddish orange, which are almost complimentary colors.

I commented on: Alex Clark, Lindsay Combs, Sarah Ballard, Andres Bosque, Cameron Moon

  1. Great job on your colors it really compliments your goal of having the city fade from day and enter into the night

  2. This is just another example of something simple, yet meaningful. Just one comment I might add is to move your copy over to the right more so that there is space on the left. Just a thought, but I like this.

  3. i LOVE this, how the sky scraper at day is like a shadow of the city at night. Very creative idea. I also like the fonts you chose.
