"SERENDIPITY"
As a non-native English speaker I have always been fascinated with new words. I recently added serendipity to my vocabulary. A serendipity is "the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way." Having said that, I decided to turn that word into wallpaper. I use this technique to better remember new words.
In addition to the picture above, I used my macro lens to capture the basic (and yet beautiful) color palettes found in nature (As nature is cohesive and its colors and shades are complimentary). I fell in love with a dandelion flower.
Truth be told, there is nothing more serendipitous than a flower that can be found in random places. In regards to the font, I went with "Roboto Condensed" and manipulated the font to "color dodge" the background and capture the diffused background (using the dissolve tools in Photoshop), and yet remain consistent with the color schemes. Overall, I feel that the macro lens was a good investment as it really helped me capture my desired color palette.

ReplyDeleteI really like your colors and how they make me think of nature. My favorite part of the picture is the "fog" at the top. I often associate dandelion flowers with rain because there were lots of dandelion flowers in my yard growing up and it rains a lot where i am from, so the fog really added that rainy feeling i was looking for when looking at the flower.
ReplyDeleteI especially love this picture because the definition of the word matches the picture. Nature seems to have the presence of some beautiful happy accident and that is exactly what serendipity means. The soothing colors also add to the definition.
