I have a jazz duo, and we released our first album last january. Here is a link if you'd like context, https://play.spotify.com/album/1ImWGjmIk7mH9HKUXtrU6p
Our roots are in jazz, but lately we've talking about expanding our style and our audience. This color palette would be a radical departure from our "brand image," but would move us in the direction our sound is going. It's very colorful - monochromatic (harmonious shades of purple in the wood and triangle) with a splash of the complementary color (yellow). I manipulated the wood in the background, and filled in the triangle of the A on our original logo to give it a new feel. I think the subdued hue of the wood pays homage to our roots, but then it looks as though bright pigments have been splashed on top, consistent with our new sound.

I like the wood background and the font that you used a lot.
ReplyDeleteI like how your font seems to disappear into the wood background, like used by time.
ReplyDeleteNathan, love the texture of the wood to make the image more interesting. The font of "sway" is nice as well--good stuff.
