Picture Assignment #1: Former Glory by Charlotte Duerden

So there is a van that is always parked outside of my parking lot that usually looks pretty creepy. I am 90% sure someone has been living in it. For this assignment I decided to spruce up the van a little bit in an effort to return it to its "Former Glory." I photo shopped the whole picture to give it a more retro vibe and added the stripes to add excitement and contrast to the picture. I loved the juxtaposition of the trash can and the shopping cart next to the van in this photo. I also think that the warm and rustic colors help to add a distinctly seventies feel and bring the photo together as a whole. To me, this photo is about second chances. Just because you have let yourself down and become something you never thought that you would be it does not mean that you have to stay like that. You can always get back up and make yourself better than you were before.
