Nathan Scovill, Color Design Project #3: "Blue Bathroom"
For this project I decided to leave my comfort zone somewhat and try my hand at interior design. I focused on an Analagous color scheme around the Blue area of the color wheel. I used free interior design software to create the design. (Which is partially to blame for the potato image quality)
Learning the software, simple as it was, was the largest challenge for me. Figuring out how to move objects and change colors is surprisingly difficult. Everything that remains white are things that I simply couldn't figure out how to change the color of. But for the most part, it seems to have worked out well.
Let me know what you think of my first ever attempt at interior design!

Wow, great job!! This was really creative and I love how you took a step out of your comfort zone for this assignment. I think the colors look really good together! Calming and I love what you designed!!
ReplyDeleteI think that you did a great job considering that you had to learn to create the design in the software! I think that the design is something that makes me feel very peaceful and is pleasant to look at.
ReplyDeleteI like the choice of colors for this room. It all seems to flow together.
ReplyDeleteI recognize that the software made this more of a challenge, but I still don't like this room. I don't think the colors work together very well. I love the tone of the blue on the walls, but the wood doesn't go with it. If it was me I would have made the wood white, or dark dark brown. The backsplash/tiles are weird too, not a fan.
ReplyDeleteI don't mean to be harsh, I just want to give good feedback!
I see where you're coming from. I would have loved wood that dark, but this was the darkest wood available. (Like I said, I was somewhat limited in options in this free program.) And white wood just wasn't available. The other tones were very warm and threw everything off. So the wood tone was basically damage control rather than the perfect color choice. Personally, I agree with you. I would have very much liked a nice dark stain or some sort of naturally dark hardwood, but alas.
DeleteThanks for the opinion, though!
