Lexi Erickson: Assignment #3

For this color assignment, I used two colors that complement each other. I also used harmonious colors. The blue and orange complemented each other. I did change the hues and tones to make the pattern. I believe the orange and yellow are harmonious colors. I tried to make the yellow a little bit lighter and more transparent. I chose this font because it was simple. I used the original colors for the orange and blue before they were more transparent for the background to make the font. I just added the turkey for fun!

I commented on: Brooke Adams, Samantha Williams, Lindsey Peterson, and Ashlyn Allred, and Ty Evenson

  2. The color blend looks great! I like the use of complimentary colors especially for the fall theme. I also liked the box shapes throughout the image.

  3. I love the colors, they have the same soft feeling to them, and they reflect "November" very well.

  4. This is topical and beautifully colored. Did you do the colors of the turkey? or just the background. I love the background colors and the turkey matches really well (if it was random). The text is easy to read and doesnt tell too much of a story. I love it.

  5. This picture just screams Thanksgiving. The colors bring out all the colors of fall, the are reminiscent of the turkey and make me excited for Thanksgiving to roll around. Excellent choice!

  6. This is so cute! I love that the pattern is like plaid, so you made the pattern and colors very reflective of the month they are representing. Cute & simple. And if you made it more of a rectangle, it would make a cute iPhone background.

  7. The geometric composition of the background is great. I like how each column of colors is almost the same but it's just a little bit different. Good call making each word the opposite color of the background.

  10. This is my favorite one. It is so simple and so easy to look at. The composition is so good, it is elegant and childish at the same time which makes it perfect for social media. Also the color scheme is perfect for this time of year. Great job.

  11. I love the simplicity of this picture. It's all very symmetrical and not too overbearing. But perhaps the way you implemented the color makes it the most noticeable, because at first you don't think those colors really go together, but as you look at it, you see how wonderfully the tints, tones, and shades are implemented.
