Erin O'Sullivan- Assignment #2 -"Keep Your Head Up"
I overlaid the words "Keep Your Head Up" from a photo my friend took of me today. Although there is no mystery behind it (my head is down and the quote says to keep your head up) I loved the idea of the obvious, because to me it seems the most obvious is often the most complex. To me, this reminds me of the thought that it is much easier to give advice than to take your own. I have had many moments in my life where I felt like I knew the answer to everyone's problems but my own yet if I had simply taken my own advice such as "Keeping my head up" then I would have been fine. So although this image seems so simple, it brings a lot more meaning and thought to the table than the obvious. The font is also very carefree which makes you feel less stressed. If it were a bold, thick, rugged font then you would feel intimidated when in reality, "Keeping Your Head Up" should make you feel happy and motivated!

Thank you! :)
I like how the type looks like a sign you would see on the street, or an inspirational poster. It fits well with the image in the back.
ReplyDeleteI was scrolling through these photos with my roommate, and when we got to yours, we just had to stop. The youthful appearance of your photo and the youthful font you chose to overlay really appealed to us both, and we were ale to connect. Great message :)
