Assignment #1 Aaron Adams - Her First Prom
I took this photo of my little sister last spring as she was waiting to go to her first prom. Her prom date hadn't arrived yet and she was so nervous. She had picked out the dress herself, her hairstyle, the flower, everything. She had been sitting on the couch, looking out the window, waiting for her prom date to arrive. I had been taking pictures of her all day, so at this point, she had pretty much tuned me out. I stood up and snapped this photo, perfectly capturing her emotion up to that point. She was trying so hard to hide her excitement and be 'cool' about her first prom. The dark shading on the front of her face represented the emotion she was trying to show (being cool) and the light coming in from the window represented the hope and excitement she was actually containing. Her date finally did show up and she had a great time. I just thought this photo captured the anticipation she was feeling through her pose, her face and the lighting effect created by the window.

I had to do a double take when I saw this, it looked so artistic. Your sister is lucky to have such a talented photographer to document her journey through high school.
